This system is believed to be the world’s first robotic fastening solution equipped with an external position detection function independent of the robot itself. Machine vision continuously identifies each fastening location by reading matrix markers mounted on the tool.
If the collaborative robot stops unexpectedly, an operator can quickly detach the wireless pistol-type nutrunner and immediately continue tightening manually using the same tool.
The machine vision system continuously tracks fastening positions and tightening sequences. The operator can resume from the exact fastening point where the robot stopped.
The same wireless nutrunner can be used for both automated and manual operation. This can eliminate the need for a separate backup tightening station or an additional contingency nutrunner system.
The system verifies the active fastening location and tightening sequence in real time. This helps prevent missed fasteners, duplicate tightening and tightening at the wrong position.
Fast manual recovery helps reduce production downtime. Eliminating duplicate backup equipment can also lower equipment investment and improve manufacturing flexibility.
